Gateshead and Spenhill reach Tesco agreement

An agreement has been signed between Tesco's regeneration subsidiary and Gateshead Council that could see the submission of a planning application for the Trinity Square development.
 
The agreement is a sign of investor confidence and follows the release of the 1Plan, the city’s 20-year vision for economic development.
 
Leader of Gateshead Council, Councillor Mick Henry said: "This agreement brings with it the confidence of one of the UK’s most significant investors – which will hopefully trigger further development. It is hoped that this will turn Trinity Square into a vibrant centre that meets the long held aspirations of Gateshead people. read more
