The building, which is due to complete in spring 2013, will be the first tangible result of a joint venture between John Laing and the council, called Croydon Council Urban Regeneration Vehicle. Nottingham's public realm is to be enhanced, after the Government agreed to help replace 29,000 streetlights over 25 years.
 
To begin with, Nottingham City Council will replace 25,000 streetlights in the next five years. The remainder wiull follow over the next 20 years.
 
All 29,000 will have new white light lanterns, while 10,000 existing columns will be retained. read more
